As Bruins fan, I hope the Habs fail to land either! Nevertheless, if they can acquire one without giving up Sergachev, they should definitely do it.

It's likely other teams will be talking to the Avs too so maybe Montreal needs other backup options- would Eberle be an upgrade to the top six? Another lesser option might be Patrick Marleau on a one or two year deal. Maybe. It instead of but in addition to the larger move.

Webers not happening obv. Beaulieau (?) ain't looking like the top pairing guy everyone hoped. The first is too low.

Duchene for Galchenyuk and Montreal's first rounder this year. Both guys get a chance to rebound with new teams and Colorado gets 3 picks in the first 32 spots (4, 20, 32) one (at least) of which they spend on a top D man. May I suggest Miro Heiskanen at 4, Callan Foote, Jusso Valimaki or Erik Brannstrom at 20, and Urho Vaakanainen or Henri Jokiharju at 32. Add two of these kids to Barrie, Johnson, Zadorov, Meloche and Bigras and that's a good blueline in three years. Use one of the picks to pick up a forward to alleviate some of the production loss of Duchene (combined with Galchenyuk) and the Avalanche are a better team in two/three years.
